Too Many Zombies Privacy Policy
Our Commitment to Privacy
Too Many Zombies is a dice game. It has no accounts, no ads and no trackers, and we run no servers of our own. This policy explains the little information the game does handle, and where it goes.
Information We Do NOT Collect
Too Many Zombies does not collect any information that identifies you personally. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
- Your Apple Account or Game Center details
- Location data
- Your contacts
- Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA)
- Payment or card details
- Any other personally identifiable information
Anonymous Usage Analytics
Too Many Zombies collects anonymous usage analytics so we can see how the stash and the store are used and keep the game fair. This is the only information the app sends to us.
What is sent:
- Actions you take in the app: choosing what to bring into a game, claiming a free item, firing a flare, running out of an item, opening the store, starting, finishing or cancelling a purchase, and earning a daily streak reward. These are recorded as named actions, with the item or pack involved.
- Basic technical context, attached automatically: app version, iOS version, device model, screen size, language, region, time zone, and accessibility settings such as larger text or reduced motion. Sessions (when the app is opened) are counted too.
- An anonymous identifier: a one-way scrambled version of the per-app device identifier Apple provides. It is not your Apple Account, not your name or email, and not an advertising identifier. We cannot use it to work out who you are, and it cannot be matched to you in other apps or on the web.
What is never sent: your Game Center name, your scores, or the moves you make in a game.
We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Because of that, Too Many Zombies does not show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Analytics is provided by TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. Events are sent over an encrypted connection and stored on TelemetryDeck's servers, and retention is governed by their privacy policy. As with any internet request, their servers receive the IP address your device connects from.
Game Center
Leaderboards, achievements and online games use Apple's Game Center. Signing in is handled by Apple, and Game Center is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
- Leaderboards and achievements: your scores and achievements are sent to Game Center and shown with your Game Center name, as Game Center settings allow
- Online games: your opponent sees your Game Center name. The two phones exchange only game moves, through Game Center; nothing passes through a server of ours
- If you are not signed in to Game Center, nothing is shared and you can still play Survival and vs Bot
iCloud
Your stash of shells and flares is saved on your device and synced to your other devices through your own iCloud account. It holds only item counts. We cannot see it, and you can turn it off in your iPhone's iCloud settings.
In-App Purchases
Packs of shells and flares are optional purchases processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple and tied to your Apple Account, not to any account with us.
Our analytics record which pack was bought, and whether a purchase was cancelled or is pending, so we can tell which packs people find worthwhile. This is recorded against the anonymous identifier described above and contains no price, receipt, Apple Account, or payment details.
Data Security
- We hold no names, emails, passwords, or payment details — there is no account to compromise
- Analytics events contain no personal information and are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection
- All app data is protected by your device's built-in security features
Children's Privacy
Too Many Zombies does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The anonymous usage analytics described above contain no personal information, are not used to build a profile of any individual, and are never used for advertising.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
App Store Privacy Labels
In accordance with Apple's App Store requirements, Too Many Zombies' privacy label declares three types of data, all collected for analytics only:
- Product Interaction — the in-app actions described above
- Device ID — the anonymous scrambled identifier described above
- Purchase History — which packs were bought
All three are marked Not Linked to You and Not Used to Track You.
